It was so hot in Pompei, I swore Vesuvio was acting up. We laid down for a quick nap at 3:30 and almost missed our 7:30 dinner reservations at Prime 7, the ship's best restaurant. Fortunately, our stewardess rang our doorbell at 7:05, planning to turn down our bed while we were still in it. Mad dash to the restaurant, a great dinner, packing and some more sleep.
We'll awake at our final port, Civitavecchia in Rome, where my cousin Giovanni Caruso graciously offered to pick us up and drive us to the airport for our flight to Palermo. Tomorrow, we're visiting Cefalu and Sunday, my family's hometown, Tusa.
