With only about 18 waking hours in Barcelona, we ended up having only tapas and rioja.
After our Friday afternoon tour, we stumbled upon Divinus just steps from our hotel. Brushing away the menu, we just sat at the bar and pointed. Two hours, 8 plates and 5 glasses of wine later we asked for the cuenta... 37 euros? Really? At home, it costs more than that to park!
Friday morning we checked out of the Acta, took a taxi to the port and dropped off our bags before wandering the Rambles. The Rambles is a miles-long street fair lined with shops and restaurants. Just of the pedestrian walk is the Boqueria - a huge food market. We stumbled across a small tapas bar inside the market for a late lunch. Four glasses of rioja and several plates later the cuenta came to... wait for it... 12.65 euros! Ridiculous.
As for topless, I couldn't get my camera out fast enough, but 20-30 naked cyclists suddenly appeared, followed by a police escort. Nude flash mob? Nah, just another Saturday afternoon in Barcelona!
(having trouble uploading pics ... will try to update later)
