Forgot to share something from yesterday ... Just outside the port of Marseille is a small island containing Chateaux D'If, the inspiration for the island prison in Dumas' "The Count of Monte Christo". We were having dinner during the sail-away when the Captain made one of his rare, shipwide announcements:
"As we sail away from Marseille, we will pass close enough to Chateaux D'If to give you a good view (pauses), but not THAT close."
Chateaux D'If - I believe Medco is moving their world headquarters there. I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteChateaux D'If...I shed many a tear in my young days over the fate of Edmond and Mercedes in "The Count of Monte Cristo". Can't wait to see pictures of Cefalu' and Tusa.
